Beyond a single "what's it worth today" figure, it often matters more to see the shape of a bond's growth — where it's been, and whether it's still climbing. Enter any bond into the calculator and a chart appears automatically underneath the result, plotting its value from issue date to today.
Each point on the line is a real published redemption value for that bond's series and issue month, at a specific redemption period — not an interpolation or estimate. The line traces your bond's actual accrual path exactly as Treasury's tables record it, from its earliest published value up through the current period.
A generic chart of average bond values by year would be misleading — bonds issued a month apart can grow at different rates depending on rate-era rules, and matured bonds stop moving entirely while active ones keep climbing. Because the chart is generated per-bond from your exact series, denomination, and issue month, it reflects that specific bond's real path rather than a rough average that might not apply to it.
There's no side-by-side comparison view, but you can look up each bond individually and note the shapes — an EE bond's steady climb with a 20-year step looks very different from an I bond's inflation-driven, uneven one, even at similar face values. Combined with the inventory's portfolio totals, that's usually enough to see which bonds in a stack are still doing the most work.
Does the chart cost anything or need an account? No — it renders automatically with every free calculator lookup.
Can I export the chart? Not as a separate image today; the printable PDF report (Pro feature) captures the numeric results per bond.
